Dr. Derrick Badaracco grew up most of his life in the greater Pittsburgh area. In high school he suffered a series of concussions greatly affecting his visual system. Luckily his issues were diagnosed and treated by a local optometrist. This experience motivated Dr. Badaracco to pursue a career in Optometry. After receiving a biology degree at the Pennsylvania State University, he attended the State University of New York College of Optometry in Manhattan. Prior to coming to Atlanta, Dr. Badaracco practiced full scope optometry in Northern Virginia. Dr. Badaracco enjoys all areas of optometry, including diagnosing and treating patients with binocular issues, pediatrics, ocular diseases, foreign body removal, as well as fitting standard and custom contact lenses and providing comprehensive eye care.
When not providing care for his patients, Dr. Badaracco enjoys spending time with his friends and family, staying as active as possible, and going on extensive hikes with his dog, Nevus.
